What: 6 FREE Yoga Sessions- Provided by Healthy Together Now Grant
When:

Session#1 Sept 3rd 7:30–9:00pm

Session#2 Sept 17th 7:30 – 8:30pm

Session#3 Sept 24th 7:30 – 8:30pm

Session#4 Oct 1st 7:30 – 8:30pm

Session#5 Oct 8th 7:30 – 8:30pm

Session# Oct 15th 7:30 – 8:30pm

Where: Cooks Creek Community Centre Seasons Hall

Who: Anyone can register, you must be registered to attend ALL these sessions. LIMITED SPACE, THEY will go super quick! At the end of these sessions I’ll ask for a brief feedback survey from each participant.

Cost: These 6 sessions are FREE from the Healthy Together Now Grant awarded to CCCC. After these sessions we will discuss future yoga sessions, back to regular session fees.

What: There are a limited amount of yoga mats to use, please indicate if you want one reserved. First come, first reserved. Bring your own mat if you’d like, yoga gear, water bottle. We have a water bottle refilling station!

Notes from Denise on the sessions;

This session is open to all levels of yoga practice, from Novice to experienced.

Believe me, this can be accomplished – even if you have an injury or disability. I will give options and you will simply practice at your level. This means sticking with a beginner pose if you are new, an adaptation if you are injured or disabled and challenging yourself with a more advanced pose if your body – and mind – allow.

Newbies, once you learn your modifications, carry them into any future class and everything will be fine.

Whatever your level, if something is uncomfortable, say so, ask a question and I will help you find comfort. In yoga we are looking to experience the balance between effort and ease.

In this six week session we will explore the foundations of a yoga practice;

Breath awareness

Postures: Standing poses, forward bends, back extensions and inversions, (dont worry, this can be accomplished with out headstands or pretzel positions,) Restoratives etc.

Conscious relaxation

Meditation
